Cast In-situ Concrete Piles

These are RC concrete piles normally drilled within a common diameter of 450-1500mm. The weak, collapsible soil section is normally cased (temporarily or permanently) while the rock is not; as it is self–supporting. The pile bottom (end bearing surface) is usually cleaned up properly prior to casting, the steel cage is lowered in a centralized manner and placed in position.

Micro piles

The micro pile drilling generally has a diameter in the range of 75mm to 250mm. Typically, the casing is advanced to the design depth using a drilling technique. Reinforcing steel, typically an all-thread bar, is inserted into the micropile casing. High-strength cement grout is then pumped into the casing. The casing may extend to the full depth or end above the bond zone with the reinforcing bar extending to the full depth.

Sheet Pile

Sheet pile walls are constructed by driving prefabricated sections into the ground. Soil conditions may allow for the sections to be vibrated into ground instead of it being hammer driven. The full sheet pile wall is formed by connecting the joints of adjacent sheet pile sections in sequential installation. Sheet pile walls provide structural resistance by utilizing the full section. Steel sheet piles are most commonly used in deep excavations.
